SW Tandem Rally

Paris, TX

Registration is now open for the Southwest Tandem Rally 2010 to be held in Paris, TX April 23-25. In order to enjoy Springtime in Paris, you could load up your tandem and crew and fly to France.  Or, you could spare yourself the jet lag, the nasty Euro exchange rate and the language barrier by coming to Texas for a long weekend of riding with your friends.  No passport required. This will be the 20th annual SWTR and promises to be one of our best. Due to a 75-team limit on hotel space, we suggest early registration to guarantee your spot.

GTR Savannah, SC (Savannah Lakes Resort) We will e-mail registration forms to all GTR Hall of Fame members (six or more GTRs including GTR 2008 or GTR 2009) who are eligible for early registration somewhere around January 15, 2010. Hall of Fame members still get early registration. For those not in the GTR Hall of Fame, the registration window for GTR 2010 begins on Monday, February 1, 2010 and closes on Friday, February 5, 2010. The application will be posted online on Sunday, January 31st at 3PM EST. How you get it to us is up to you, but mailing time is no longer critical in determining if you can come to GTR. All you have to do is get it to us by February 5th. After that, we will gather all of the applications we have received and use a seniority and attendance-based matrix to see who gets into the rally and who gets on the waiting list. Since we sold out in two days in 2009, this should eliminate all stress involved with trying to get your registration to GTR Headquarters in the first two days and it makes it fairer for those who live far from us. It also benefits those who have attended at least one Georgia Tandem Rally as you have a leg up over the GTR "newbies". We have 95-100 slots to fill, so hopefully we will get 95-100 applications during general registration. If the rally does not fill up during the initial registration window, we will open it up until the rally is full. The location is 165 miles from our house in Marietta, which is about the same distance as the rally is from Charlotte.  With STR in NW Alabama next year, GTR will be the largest and closest rally to Florida and the Carolinas in 2010.

Say what? You don't see a ride you like. Then invent your own - be creative, make it adventurous, make it a priority for a safe ride, keep it simple, know your limits.

Remember: the "TailWind" is your friend.
