Subject: It was a pleasure to meet you this afternoon

Suzie,

It was a real pleasure to meet you and to talk about tandems this afternoon at the end of the Bicycles East mid-Saturday morning ride. As I promised here is a link to my website. It is called The Incidental Cyclist. What I wanted to accomplish with this site is to say some things that are on my mind, share useful (and sometimes not so useful) information with other avid cyclists in the area, and perhaps in some small way promote cycling in Union County. My daughter and I do spend a lot of time on the bike, and some of it is even on the tandem! Take a look at what I am doing on the web and let me know what you think. As anything on the web, it is a work in progress and I am always looking for little things to improve the readers experience.

If you happen to click on the site stats page, I am not afraid to show people what my traffic numbers are. What is displayed are stats for the current day and the previous day. The busiest traffic seems to come on Mondays and Wednesdays, so I always try to have fresh content on those particular days. As I mentioned to you during our conversation, you can subscribe to the calendar and it can automatically populate events into anything that supports iCal (Apple iCal, Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar). You may leave a comment on any post. I do allow anyone to post links in your comments and if you are a registered user those links will be indexed by Google, Yahoo, Ask, etc. from the very first comment. Unregistered users will need to make a number of comments before I allow their links to be indexed on my site. Please note that it is a blog and not a forum so although I allow commenting on topics posted, only my daughter and I can create original material. I do allow excerpts of any of my posts to be reposted on other websites as long as there is also a link to the original posting on my site.

My daughter and I will be out on our tandem for Jeff’s Zoo ride Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm. That ride starts at the New Town Elementary School. The school is located just south of New Town Road on Indian-Trail/Waxhaw Road. If you are there look for us on out blue Cannondale.

If I were to describe the bike I have could you help me find a buyer ?  I bought it used (but in very good shape) for under $1000; it is not a "name brand" but might work well for the recreation cyclist who is not into spending huge sums of $ .

Subject: Looking for tandem

Howdy,

I am Adam Lawler from West Jefferson.  My wife Karen and I are looking for a used tandem and trailer to take a tour to California on this summer.  We are looking for a nice road touring bike, something like a Cdale, Burley, Trek, etc.  I found your club on the web and thought I'd send out an email to see if y'all knew of anyone wanting to sell one.

Our biggest challenge is going to be fit.  Karen will be the captain most of the time due to my vision problems.  She is 5'3" and I am 5'7".

Any help you could be in pointing us the right direction for our first tandem would be appreciated.

Adam,
